Robert "Bob" Dean Craig, 60, of Dike died Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.
He was born December 11, 1951, son of John and Bernice (Plaehn) Craig. He graduated from Dike High School and served in the Army from 1973-1976. Following his military service he was employed at the Amoco Fertilizer Plant in Reinbeck. He suffered a traumatic brain injury in 1977 from a motorcycle accident. Bob had been a resident of the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown since 1978 and had been employed at the Mid-Iowa Workshop in Marshalltown for many years.
Survivors include his mother; brother, Dennis (Lynn) of Carlisle; sister, Jean (Jim) Loger of Dike; and special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: his father and infant brother and sister.
Services were held on Saturday, March 24 10:30 a.m. at Fredsville Lutheran Church, rural Cedar Falls, with burial in the church cemetery. Military honors conducted by Dike American Legion Post #471. Visitation was held Friday, March 23 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, and also for one hour prior to services at the church.
