The theatrical production, "Witnesses" will be performed at Zion Lutheran Church, 5831 Grundy Rd, rural Hudson, on Sunday, April 1, during the morning worship hour at 9:00. The one-man play, written by Curt Cloninger, features professional actor, performer and speaker, Jonathan P. Swenson.
In this dramatic and very personal performance, Swenson portrays eight different characters (historical and imagined) such as a stingy innkeeper with a Bronx accent, an Italian Lazarus who likes pasta, and a grieving Thomas, mourning the loss of his friend as each responds to Jesus. Through the eyes of these characters, both comic and serious, the audience is challenged to see Jesus from fresh perspectives; not cold and distant, but as one who was intimately involved in the "nitty-gritty" of life.
The public is invited; the church is handicap accessible. Coffee & Cookies will be served following the program.
Due to the serious nature of some of these characters, this presentation is not recommended for children under the age of 10. Baby-sitting services will be provided.
