G-R Drama Dept. presents "Hollywood Hillbillies" on Nov. 2nd & 3rd.

Miracle On Main to be an evening of entertainment on Friday, Nov. 8.

Two special hand crafted items: a cedar chest by Leonard & Dot Mumm and crocheted table cloth made by Jenny Boleyn to be auctioned off at the Reinbeck United Methodist Church on Nov. 14.

Tawanda Wienders of Dike was chosen to represent the Volunteers of Cedar Valley Hospice of Grundy Center at the 2002 Iowa Hospice Conference held on Oct. 17 in Ames.

Amy Nolan and John Barfels were married Sept. 7 at Amity Presbyterian Church.

Julie Storjohann and Ryan Routh were married May 25 at Covenant Presbyterian Church in West Des Moines.

Irene Huisman, 78, Wellsburg died Oct. 23 at Allen Hospital.

Pearl Schoenfelder, 84, died Oct. 22.

Edna May Draper, 91, died Oct. 27 in Madrid, Iowa.


NOV 5, 1992

Harold W. Smith, 74, Morrison, died Oct. 28 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital.

Anna Ruth Jensen, 90, Western Home in Cedar Falls, formerly of Voorhies, died Oct. 28 at Covenant Medical Center.

Private services were held for Ray Siemens, 90, Traer, Nov. 1 at Sunrise Hills Care Center in Traer.

Mr. & Mrs. Mark Sedlmayr, Creston, are parents of a son born Oct. 28.

Mr. & Mrs. Tom Bleeker, Des Moines, are parents of a daughter born Oct. 29.

Mr. & Mrs. Elvin Juhl, Reinbeck, celebrated 50 years of marriage while wintering in Texas.

Reinbeck to have a new industry G-M Manufacturing, manufacturers of plastic injection moldings.


NOV. 1982

Five people were killed on Nov. 8 in a natural gas pipe line explosion near Hudson. The explosion resulted in flames shooting 100 ft. into the air for more than 1 1/2 hrs. and was visible 50 miles away. Killed in the explosion were: Lester "Speck" Huisman, 63, Mike Husman, 26, both of Wellsburg; Cooper Niehaus, 72, Ackley; Diane Runyan, 34, LaPorte City and David Kranak, 26, Waterloo.

Rick & Carol Jans and Duane & Pauline Jans have opened Bumper to Bumper, Auto parts store on the west end of Main Street.

Guy Stover, 87, Dike died Nov. 6 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.

Mary Clemans, 83, Gladbrook, died Nov. 7 at Westbrok Acres Nursing Home in Gladbrook.

Emma Creswell celebrated her 90th birthday with an open house at the Reinbeck Memorial Building on Nov. 7.

Mr. & Mrs. Delbert Clarke will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on Nov. 20 with an open house.

Danette Sorensen & Larry Plaehn were married Oct. 23 at the First Baptist Church in Reinbeck.


NOV. 9, 1972

E. Merle Dakzuekm 66, Traer, died Nov. 5 following a lingering illness with cancer.

Mary Brubaker & Ralph Hook were married Oct. 28 at Amity Presbyterian Church.

Mr. & Mrs. Robert Petersen, Hudson, are parents of a son born Nov. 1.


NOV. 1962

LeRoy Block lost an IHC tractor & corn picker to a fire.

Rev. Huebuer resigns as pastor at Amity and also serving Morrison. He has accepted a call in Waterloo.

Schrock fertilizer of Galva, Ill. has selected a site at Reinbeck north of the old Pioneer plant for a new plant.

Mr. & Mrs. Marvin Petersen of Sioux City are parents of a son born Oct. 31.

Mr. & Mrs. Gary Sieversen of Marion are parents of a son born Nov. 3.


NOV. 1952

James Dinsdale, 19, son of Mr. & Mrs. Lester Dinsdale was shot in the side by Henry Bern, a night watchman in a Halloween mishap.

Mrs. Adolph Koch, 67, died Nov. 5 in her home.

Mr. & Mrs. Richard Volkens are parents of a son born Oct. 30.

Mr. & Mrs. Don Aswegan are parents of a daughter born Nov. 4.

Mr. & Mrs. Walter Koch are parents of a son born Nov. 3.


NOV. 1942

Arlie Considine of Parkersburg and Pvt. Walter Schneider were married Oct. 25.

Mr. & Mrs. John Strawn, Cedar Rapids, are parents of a daughter born Oct. 28.

Rowena Davis, Hudson became the bride of Homer Wilson on Oct. 24.
