NOV. 7, 2002

Twenty-two plaques and flags for Veterans lost in battle, at sea or missing in action from 1943-1944, 1945 were presented in the Reinbeck Cemetery.

Mr. & Mrs. William Russell recently celebrated with a six week western trip to Arizona, Utah & Montana and other western points of interest,

Charles "Chuck" Slessor, 80, Reinbeck, died Nov. 1 at Parkview Manor.

Ethel Thede, 83, Reinbeck, died Nov. 4 at Covenant Medical Center.


NOV. 12, 1992

Mr. & Mrs. Delbert Clarke, Reinbeck, will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 22.

Mr. & Mrs. Charles Alcorn announce their daughter Dawn's engagement & approaching marriage. A December wedding is planned.

Edna Dufel, Hudson, will celebrate her 75th birthday on Nov. 24.


NOV. 18, 1982

Chad Jensen, Reinbeck boy scout, presented his plans for a community sign for his Eagle Scout Project.

Wanda Olsen became the bride of David Petersen on Nov. 6.

Neighbors & friends helped Dave Bystricky harvest 550 acres of corn and 300 acres of soybeans.

Services for Amelia Bruene, 92, Gladbrook, were held on Nov. 13. She died Nov. 10 at Westbrook Acre Nursing Home in Gladbrook.

Services were held for Lester Schade of Gladbrook on Nov. 17. Mr. Schade passed away at his home on Nov. 15.


NOV. 1972

Winters first snow storm hit this area on Monday and turned out to be a record breaker. Unofficial estimates placed the snow depth at 10-12 inches.

A school bus driven by Evar Andersen ended up in a ditch near Lincoln due to icy road conditions. No students were on board and Andersen was not injured.

A Moeller & Walter feed truck driven by Hans Andersen went in the ditch one mile east of Reinbeck. The accident was attributed to icy road conditions.

Merlin Adair and grandson Steve, 13, both of Reinbeck escaped serious injury when the snowmobile they were riding collided with C.R. Burdick.

Lillian Juhl, 84, Reinbeck, died Nov. 11 at the home of her son Everett in Cedar Falls of a heart attack.

Otto Thaden, 83, Gladbrook died Nov. 9 at a Marshalltown Hospital.

Dick Niehaus, 87, Grundy Center, died Nov. 7 at Beverly Manor in Grundy Center.

Mr. & Mrs. Saever Ellis are parents of a daughter.

E. Loonan, 85, Hudson, died at Parkview Manor on Nov. 13.

Al Fedderson, 82, Gladbrook, died Nov. 11 at Perry of a heart attack.


NOV. 1962

Ben Hook, Wellsburg, is the new auditor appointed to succeed C.S. Macy.

Minnie Haren, Grundy Center, observed her 107th birthday.

Elizabeth Keith, 79, Traer, died Nov. 11 of a heart ailment.

Mr. & Mrs. Roy Snyder observed their 40th wedding anniversary on Nov. 8.

Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Droppert, Waterloo, are parents of a son born Nov. 10.

George Halupnick , 53, was found dead at his farm on Nov. 11.


NOV. 1952

Reinbeck Memorial Bldg. to be a reality as the building commission starts to raise $22,000.

Kenneth Koupal, 15, accidentally shot himself while hunting. The 22 caliber bullet entered his right side and in his shoulder blade.

Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence Aldrich are parents of a son born Nov. 9.

Dan Harrington, 81, Dike, died Nov. 8.

Henry Lassen, 78, Dike, died Nov. 6.

Roy Henningsen, 43, Dike, died Nov. 8.

Henry Henze, 59, Grundy Center, died at his home of a heart attack on Nov. 9.

Robert Anderson & Steve Weiss received their Eagle Scout Award on Nov. 17.

Mr. & Mrs. Ed Kruger, Oak Park, Ill. are parents of a son born Nov. 9.

Iowa pheasant season postponed from Nov. 11 to Nov. 18 due to the drought


NOV. 1942

Sara Brown, 78, local librarian, died Nov. 18.

Mr. & Mrs. Harold Robertson, Reinbeck, are parents of a son born Nov. 8.

Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Hoepner are parents of a son born Nov. 10.

Mr. & Mrs. Orville Backens are parents of a daughter born Nov. 9.

Mr. & Mrs. U.L. Hashell of Mason City are parents of a son.

Herman Vooges, 66, formerly of Reinbeck, died Nov. 1 in Cedar Falls.
