Coach Bailey , Reinbeck Courier

The Rebels traveled to Ackley on December 4th and were defeated by the score of 36-61. The Rebels started out strong and were leading 17-16 at the end of the first quarter. From that point on we were outscored 45 to 19. Right now we are just not shooting the ball well at all. The Rebels shot 18% from the floor and 59% from the free throw line for the game. Poor shooting affects all aspects of the game and hopefully this will improve as the season progresses!

Ellie Stoakes led the scoring with 8, Emily Snider and Taylor Flamme finished with 7 each, Nicole Adair 6, Amber Berendes 5, Hayley Weber 1, Leah Holman 1, and Lauren Husmann 1.

On the road again Friday night the Rebels captured their first conference win 63-57! The Rebels ran the system well again tonight, with the difference being we shot the ball for a better percentage. We were able to get up 97 shots for the game while making 22 for 23%. This is not the percentage we would like but it is better than previous games. The Rebels reached 4 of their 5 system goals: 97 shots (80); 42 threes (40); forced turnovers 44 (30); more shots than our opponent +29 (25). We fell short on our offensive rebound percentage. The Rebels only turned the ball over 10 times for the game!

Seniors Emily Snider and Erin Wentzien had their best offensive nights of the young season as they finished with 22 and 16 points. Nicole Adair scored 6, Britney Keller 4, Hayley Weber 4, Amber Berendes 4, Ellie Stoakes 4, and Bailea Evenson 3.
