George Dahms will celebrate his 100th birthday on Jan. 29 at Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook.

Shellie Bolt joins LSB staff as assistant V-President, Financial services.

Helen Poland will celebrate her 90th birthday on Jan. 28.

Mr. & Mrs. David Walker of Charleston, S.C. are parents of a daughter born Jan. 10. Mrs. Walker is the former Tammy Gutknecht.

Barbara J. Overton, 58, Traer, died Jan. 19, 2003.

Teresa K. Ragsdale, 44, Reinbeck, died Jan. 20 at her home.

Walter Oettchen, 71, Tama, passed away Jan. 9 at the VA Medical Center in Iowa City.

Marion E. Funnell, 77, Grundy Center, died Jan. 16 at the Grundy Care Center.

Stephanie Barker & Troy Holman were married Dec. 11at the United Chuch of Christ in Reinbeck.

Mandy Smith & Kirk Folkerts, both of Cypress, Texas. were married on Oct. 26.

Ann M. Gallagher and W. Thomas Williams will be married on March 6.

Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Davis will observe their 40th wedding anniversary on Jan. 28.

Mr. & Mrs. John Sass, Jr. are parents of a daughter born Jan. 28.

Rose Rickert estate home sold to Inez Buhman for $21,000.

John Strohbehn, Reinbeck, suffered a ruptured aorta and heart attack and remains in critical conditon in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Mr. & Mrs. Walter Stirler will observe their 25th wedding anniversary on Feb. 11 with an open house.

Mr. & Mrs. Wilford Eiffler will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on Feb. 18 with an open house.

Mr. & Mrs. Charles Thesing are parents of a daughter born Feb. 5.

Junior Thede was a winner of the 1972 local corn yield contest sponsored by the Lion's Club. Merle Lynch won the soybean yield contest.

J. Roger Ingols, Reinbeck, was honored at a special meeting of Coin Lodge #394 A.F. & A.M. for 25 years of service as Treasurer.

Claude Smith, 86, retired business man, died at the home of his son, Claude Jr. in Knoxville on Feb. 2.

Dr. W.H. Verduyn and Dr. H.V. Kahler, has completed moving in the Hake Dental Bldg. on Broad St.

Mr. & Mrs. E.A. Mitchell will observe their 25th wedding anniversary on Feb. 12.

Mrs. Wm. Hanisch, 42, formerly of Morrison, died Feb. 1.

Anna Wegnall, 88, Traer, died Jan. 24.

Barb J. Stock of Blackwell, Mo. became the bride of Charles Wildman on Jan. 24.

JAN. 1949

Jean Mitchell & John Brandhorst were married on Jan. 31.

Clarence Cheeseman, 65, died suddenly from a heart attack on Jan. 30.

Lois Rickert became the bride of Staff Sergeant Theodore Robertson of Rushford, Minn. on Jan. 23.

Mr. & Mrs. Lyman Barker moved to Dr. E.A. Hall house recently vacated by John Benson.

Charles Raum, 28, died of wounds after fighting and serving in the Southwest Pacific on Jan. 1, 1943. He was rated as a machine gunner.

Marlys Schmidt, formerly of Reinbeck, and Frank Stanton of Long Beach, CA. were married on Jan. 17.

Prentiss Mettlin, 65, died suddenly on Feb. 1 while feeding a flock of chickens.
