REINBECK - Zach Pierce had a double-double of 25 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Gladbrook-Reinbeck boys' basketball team to a 52-41 victory over South Tama and the Rebels' first share of the NICL West Division title since 2007-08.
Camden Kickbush added nine points and Jacob Smoldt had seven for the Rebels (14-4, 13-1), who face three NICL East teams this coming week. G-R shares the West Division crown with West Marshall, which has won at least a share of the league title in each of its five seasons in the conference.
South Tama (6-13, 5-9) got 13 points from Grant Koch to lead the way, and Jose Fonseca added 10 points and nine rebounds. Ian Slagle matched his season best with eight points.
