REINBECK - The South Tama County girls soccer team had no answer for North Iowa Cedar League rival Gladbrook-Reinbeck on Tuesday as the Rebels scored early and often in a 10-0 win over the Trojans.
The Rebels scored five goals in the first 22 minutes of the match, took a 6-0 lead at intermission and continued to pile on the goals in the second half.
"This was a tough game for the team," STC coach Bob McBain said. "This was a night that the team was not aggressive and G-R controlled the midfield."
Sam Early allowed 10 goals in the match but still played well for the Trojans, stopping more than 20 shots, according to McBain.
The Rebels are now 2-0 on the season and have outscored their two opponents - Independence and STC - 17-1.
The Trojans next face Class 2A No. 14 Grinnell at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. The Rebels will host Hudson in a 5 p.m. match Tuesday.
