Grundy County Master Gardeners offering scholarship to Grundy County students

The Grundy County Master Gardeners are once again offering a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior in high school at any of the schools in Grundy County. Applicant must be a resident of Grundy County who plans to enter as a full time student with a declared major in horticulture, floriculture, landscape horticulture, nursery & garden management, greenhouse production, turf grass science & management or agronomy in a two or four year program.

Applications and more information can be found at the ISU Grundy County Extension & Outreach or picked up at the extension office at 703 F Avenue, Suite 1, Grundy Center, Iowa, or by contacting Extension Administrator Shari Sell-Bakker at 319-824-6979 or Applications are due to the extension office no later than 4:30 p.m. on May 6, 2013. Scholarship winner will be selected and announced no later than May 13, 2013.

Master Gardeners are members of the Grundy County community who take an active interest in growing flowers, vegetables, fruits, shrubs, trees and lawns. "What really sets them apart from other home gardeners is their commitment to learning and sharing what they learn with others," said Grundy County Extension & Outreach Administrator Shari Sell-Bakker.
