NICL track

May 12, 2013
Reinbeck Courier

The Gladbrook-Reinbeck Rebel Track Teams participated in the NICL track meet in Grundy Center on Monday, April 30. The boys team finished in 6th place overall in the field, while the girls placed 8th overall. Once again the NICL field was loaded with great competition. South Tama won both the girls and boys team titles.

The night started on a positive note with field events for the boys. Chase Clark took home the title in the high jump. Zach Pierce threw a personal best in the shot put and also brought home the gold medal. The 4x800 team also ran a strong race and finished 4th overall. Eric Stoakes was narrowly defeated in the 400M low hurdles, but still took home the silver medal. Wyatt Swanson ran a PR for the season in the 800 and finished 4th overall.

The last week of the regular season is upon us. We have a final tune-up meet at Parkersburg for the boys and Denver for the girls on Monday. Thursday is the State Qualifying Meet at Grundy Center where everything is on the line. We feel like we have set ourselves up for a strong finish on the season.
