Margaret (Green) Sanville of Galveston, Texas, formerly of Texas City, Texas, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at University of Texas Medical Branch hospital in Galveston, Texas. She was born December 28, 1922, in Reinbeck, Iowa, the only child of Leon and Adele (Ramsey) Green.
Following graduation from Reinbeck High School in 1940, Margaret attended AIB in Des Moines. In 1943 she enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a WAVE for the duration of WWII. Following an honorable discharge in 1946 she moved to Calif. where she worked several jobs, and met and married Edward "Larry" Sanville. One son, Scott Ramsey Sanville was born to their union. Upon moving to Paris, Texas, she managed a motel, until settling in Texas City, Texas where she was employed at Ellington AFB until her retirement.
Margaret was a faithful member of First Christian Church of Texas City. Following her retirement she assisted elderly friends and enjoyed a water aerobics class. She traveled to Reinbeck twice yearly to visit her mother and other relatives and attend class reunions, where she was the life of the party.
She is survived by her very loyal friend, Lynne Mattingly of Texas City; 5 cousins, LaVonne Ramsey and Lloyd Smith of Reinbeck, Joanne (Smith) Strem of Bakersfield, Calif., Craig Ramsey of Centennial, Colo., and Jack Ramsey of Lincoln, Iowa; a number of second cousins; a host of friends, and her beloved little dog, Cherie. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1992 and her son Scott, in 2003.
In compliance with her wishes, her body was cremated and there will be no service.
