GRUNDY CENTER, Iowa Please join Grundy County Memorial Hospital (GCMH) as they celebrate the 36th Annual National Nursing Assistants' Week from June 13 - 20, 2013. This year's theme is "Nursing Assistants @ the Heart of Care".
Nursing Assistants provide some of the daily, hands-on care received by residents in nursing homes and other long-term care settings. The 36th Annual National Nursing Assistants' Week is a special week to recognize the efforts and dedication of these important health care workers.
Approximately 50 Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) work at Grundy County Memorial Hospital in the Long Term Care (LTC) and Inpatient departments. Each CNA is a key player in the lives of the people in his or her care. Nursing assistants are called on to develop new skills in person centered care, electronic medical reporting, and to provide for safety in the care setting.
Grundy County Memorial Hospital CNA Tara Hall is one of more than fifty certified nursing assistants employed at GCMH. She was recently awarded the Grateful Patients award by a resident’s family, who were especially appreciative of the care she gave their family member. Certified Nursing Assistant’s Week is being marked June 13 – 20th.
"We would like to recognize nursing assistants so that people can see the caliber of these committed workers," remarks LTC Director of Nursing, Linda Larson. "Our center, as well as long term care facilities across the area, depend on the dedicated CNAs who provide hands-on care."
