Reinbeck Courier

REINBECK - South Tama sophomore Dalton Doyle struck out 12 in a no-hitter and the Trojans defeated Gladbrook-Reinbeck 2-1 in NICL West Division baseball here Friday night.

Doyle had a perfect game until issuing a two-out walk in the fourth, leading to Gladbrook-Reinbeck's only run after an error.

For the game Doyle allowed just the one walk, throwing 70 of his 97 pitches for strikes. He only went to ball three that one time, and STC's defense made just two errors behind him.

The Trojans (6-1, 3-0) got both of their runs in the third. Colson Frakes walked, Kolton Smith tripled and Kaleb Davenport doubled to account for all the offense Doyle would need.

Grant Koch finished 2-for-4 as well for STC.

Joe Zimmerman took the loss for the Rebels. He allowed five hits, four walks and a hit batsman while striking out seven.
