GLADBROOK - Class 3A No. 6 East Marshall mauled Gladbrook-Reinbeck on Monday night, hitting three home runs among its 24 hits in a 17-2, five-inning softball victory.
Sophomore Kylee Hoskey connected for her first varsity home run as a part of East Marshall's five-run second inning, while seniors and twin sisters Katie and Callie Roseland also went deep for the Mustangs (11-1, 4-1).
Katie Roseland finished 4-for-5 at the plate with a double and a solo homer, while Ashley Allen and Taylor Fricke both had three hits including a double. Sophia Grego also rapped out four hits as East Marshall claimed its fifth consecutive win.
Haley Long went all seven innings in the circle, allowing two earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out nine.
Taylor Street lasted just two innings in the circle for Gladbrook-Reinbeck (1-9, 0-4), which lost its seventh in a row.
East Marshall hosts Grundy Center tonight in league play, while the Rebels visit South Hardin for a conference tilt.
