Angela M. Ohrt & Christopher M. Snyder

Angela M. Ohrt, daughter of Cynthia Ohrt of Cedar Rapids and the late Randall Ohrt, and Christopher M. Snyder, son of Art & Linda Snyder of DeWitt exchanged marriage vows on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the Newman Catholic Center in Iowa City. Fr. Thomas McDermott of Waterloo, a friend of the Snyder family was the Officiant.

Suzanne Felton, sister of the bride was Matron of Honor. Her bridesmaids were her sister, Charlotte Butikofer and friends Annie Reiher, Lyndsay Legel, Laura Paine and Holly Callahan. Jon Snyder, brother of the groom was Best Man. His groomsmen were friends Rob Peters, Tim Horst, Josh Severin, Chris Thede and Mike Decker. Ushers were Dale Felton, brother-in-law of the bride, Ryan Bobst, friend of the bride, Tarrence Peterson and Drew Bellendier, friends of the groom. McKenna Felton, niece of the bride was their flower girl and Andrew Butikofer and Aaron Butikofer, nephews of the bride were ring bearers.

Tim and Lori Schneider, cousins of the bride were church greeters and hosts. Jacqueline Wedig, cousin of the groom and Heather Van Gelder, cousin of the bride were readers. Sarah Wambold, Stacia Dolan and Alexas Ihrig all friends of the bride were guest book attendants. Personal attendants were Angela's friends Rachael Gehlbach and Alycia Karsjens.

During the wedding ceremony Tara Acton, sang "In This Very Room," and Wyatt Sheeder sang "If I Ever". Tara and Wyatt are friends of Angela.

Art & Linda Snyder hosted the rehearsal dinner at the Brown Deer Golf Club, Coralville on Friday evening.

The cocktail and dinner reception was held at the Hotel Kirkwood in Cedar Rapids. Phil and Nancy Lauterbach and Beth Thompson and Les Burns, friend of the bride's family, Mark and Eileen Felderman and Jacqueline Wedig and Thomas Staley, cousins of the groom were the reception hosts. During the reception, the bride's mother had arranged for long-time friend Tim Sweet to sing Buddy Holly's "True Love Ways" the song Angela and her father would have danced to if he had been present.

Angela is a 2002 graduate of Gladbrook-Reinbeck High School, 2006 graduate of Wartburg College with a Bachelor of Social Work, and 2008 graduate from the University of Iowa with a Master's of Social Work. She is a licensed independent therapist with the Vera French Community Mental Health Center in Davenport. She specializes in children and adolescent therapy. Chris is a 2002 graduate of Maquoketa High School and 2007 graduate of University of Northern Iowa in Construction Management. He is a project manager with Civil Constructors in East Moline, Ill. The couple resides in Davenport.
