Dear Editor;

To the Reinbeck City Park Board, the City Council and the Citizens of Reinbeck.

I and many others have purchased a season pass to the Aquatic Center of Reinbeck. So far we haven't been able to use a clean, staffed pool, or even an open pool. I understand that at the beginning things don't always work as they should, but most problems should be addressed BEFORE opening date. Even though the pool opened, today and many others it HASN'T been open when it should be. Today's message is because of the weather. Oh yes, it's 70 so far and going to be warmer later today...the WEATHER IS NOT THE PROBLEM! I see today when I went to the pool for a morning swim that the covers have finally been put on and they are NOT always used daily, it does help to keep it warmer. The city doesn't like to have the pool heated, but isn't that what we paid for? I am one and not the only one that thinks they should refund our season passes and for sure we won't be buying another one until the pool is MANAGED and HEATED as it is to be.. WHAT A WASTE OF OUR TAXPAYERS MONEY THIS YEAR! It is no wonder the pool is always at a loss to the city as it isn't run as it should be and the leak should be fixed correctly this year after the season, so NEXT year can be positive.
