November 3, 2013
Reinbeck Courier

GRUNDY CENTER Grundy County Memorial Hospital (GCMH) Volunteer, Kate Durbin, was honored as Grundy County Memorial Hospital's Shining Star of the Year at the Iowa Hospital Association's Annual Meeting. Kate's nomination is: Energetic and enthusiastic don't begin to describe long time Grundy County Memorial Hospital Foundation Volunteer, Kate Durbin. Since joining the Foundation Board of Directors in 2006, Kate has been a driving force in the Foundation's fund raising events, helping create events that attract larger attendance, generate more 'buzz' in the community, and provide an increasing amount of funds for the Foundation.

Kate's talents in designing tabletops and displays have become legendary at the Foundation's annual winter Gala, and she has perfected the art of grouping Silent and Live Auction items for maximum pizazz and interest from bidders. With her hard work and support, the Gala and the Fall Fling have become the Foundation's most successful fundraisers.

With Kate, anything is possible including the transformation of an ordinary room into a glitzy party scene!
