The Black Hawk Nighthawks 4-H Club held their regular meeting on Sunday, November 10th. Audrey Leyen filled for the President and Sadie Brockett filled in for the Vice President to open the meeting. The roll call was, "Say something you are thankful for."

The secretary's and treasurer's reports were given. We signed up for presentations and Share the Fun. Since we are doing Pillow People for Share the Fun, Malissa showed us an example of one, so we know what we are going to be doing. Malissa reminded us to make sure we have signed for 4-H online through We were given the opportunity to sell Younkers Community Day books which could be used on November 15th and 16th. We found out who was available on Thursday November 14th at 4 p.m. to help set up the 4-H Christmas Tree for Miracle on Main. We also narrowed down the dates that would work for our next meeting in January at Parkview, which is when we'll practice our Pillow People skit. Then we signed up to play the piano, bring a pet, do a craft/activity, etc. with the Parkview residents.

Sadie Brockett did a presentation on How to Make Toast, and Audrey Leyen did a presentation on Cow Showmanship and Etiquette.

After the meeting, Malissa divided us into two groups for an activity.. Each group had to guess how far they would stretch down the hallway lying down, one after another, with their hands straight above their heads. Each group marked their guess on the floor with masking tape and then had to actually lie down to see how close they came. The first group was short by about a foot, and the second group was over their mark by about a foot.

Our next meeting will be in the morning on Saturday, January 11th at Parkview.
