Assistant Grundy County Attorney Erika L. Allen has announced that she will seek election to the office of County Attorney of Grundy County.
Allen moved to Grundy County in 2005 after graduating from the University of Iowa, College of Law. She has been the First Assistant Grundy County Attorney since her appointment on August 25, 2007.
Allen grew up in Waterloo, Iowa and she and her husband Robert chose Grundy County to live and raise their two daughters and appreciate the advantages of living in rural Iowa. Robert grew up on a farm in northwest Iowa and teaches school in Waterloo. They lived in Grundy Center prior to moving to an acreage in rural Dike.
Allen cites her years of experience in the Grundy County Attorney's Office as an asset in her campaign for election. Allen is a former board member of the Friends of the Kling Memorial Library, Grundy Community Preschool and Child Care Center, a former Rotarian, and a current member of the Grundy Community YMCA Board.
Allen is a Republican candidate for election in the June Primary Election.
