On what may have been the best track weather we have had in quite some time, the Gladbrook-Reinbeck Rebel Boys Tracksters traveled to Dike for the Wolverine Invitational on Tuesday. The Rebels finished 7th as a team with 54 points, The track meet scheduled for Thursday at Denver was cancelled due to the weather.
Zach Pierce brought home the gold medal in the shot put with a throw of 46'2.5". Eric Stoakes finished runner-up in the 400 low hurdles with a time of 57.16. Wyatt Swanson was third in the 800M run with a time of 2:05.68. And Chase Clark finished third in the long jump with a leap of 18'11.5".
Collectively, this was a great meet for the Rebels to participate in. Everyone was able to participate in several events, the weather was nearly perfect, and G-R had a strong showing in some relays. It was nice to see so many athletes participate and gain personal bests. This week G-R travels to Parkersburg on Tuesday and back to Dike on Friday. Hopefully we are able to get some good running conditions and keep improving as May is already upon us!
