LaVonne May Stirler

LaVonne May Stirler (88) of Reinbeck, Iowa passed away on June 1st, 2016, under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice and in the presence of her family. Memorial services were held on Tuesday June 7th, 2016, at St. John's Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m., in Reinbeck, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Elms and Parkveiw Manor of Reinbeck, Iowa. French Hand Funeral Home is caring for LaVonne and her family.

LaVonne May Stumberg was born to Jacob and Ethel (Ash) Stumberg on May 23rd, 1928 in Grundy Center, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area, graduating with the class of 1945. On March 4th, 1949, LaVonne and F. Donald Stirler were united in marriage. Together they would raise their family in Reinbeck, Iowa. LaVonne was an employee of Cropmate, where she managed the soil testing laboratory in Reinbeck, until her retirement at the age of 62. On June 8th, 2012, Don passed away. LaVonne enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. LaVonne was a very giving person, so much so that every year she would buy toys and clothes for underprivileged children in the area. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Reinbeck, where she served as the church treasurer for 17 years.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Linda (Dennis) Romitti, Marcia Stirler, grandchildren; Misti Ellis, Mike (Morgan and Briar Bandy) Ellis, "adopted grandson" Sean Schafer, siblings; Pork (Arlene) Stumberg, Jack (Sandy) Stumberg and several nieces and nephews.
