MARCH 8, 2007

Second winter storm hits area after getting dug out after a massive storm hit the area on Feb. 24.

Grundy Co. Hospital receives trauma center rating.

Barbie Doll turns 50 years old.

Leonard Ralston, 77, Grundy Center, died Feb. 28 at Allen Hospital.

Mr. & Mrs. Eric Wrage are parents of a daughter born Jan. 3.

Chris Finn, Reinbeck, takes 5th place at State Wrestling Tournament.


MARCH 6, 1997

Ronald Schildroth, Grundy Co. farmer, receives award from the American Soybean Association in recognition of his dedication to the soybean industry.

Frances Shearn, 102, Reinbeck, died March 6 at Covenant Medical Center.

Elwood Sievers, 84, Gladbrook, died March 2 in Edina, Minn.

Megan Stull is a member of the Norse squad at Luther College.

Mr. & Mrs. Bill Koch will celebrate their 62nd wedding anniversary with a card shower.

Traci Ehrig and Scott Goodale were married Nov. 2, 1996 in Hudson.

A son was born to Deb Moore and the late Bob Moore on March 10.

Donna Larsen was admitted to Covenant Medical Center due to a blood clot following foot surgery.

Last Friday a "million dollar rain" came as a welcome to prayers of the drought stricken area.

Hazel Wieher, 74, Jesup, former Reinbeck jewelry store owner, died March 6.

Mr. & Mrs. Steve Miller, Waterloo, are parents of a son born March 11.

Farmers Co-op to add 290,000 bushel storage by constructing two grain silos.


MARCH 15, 1967

Margaret Hicks, l0l, former citizen died March 9 at Kalona, Iowa.

Firemen were called to extinguish a fire in oat stubble field at Les Kneeland's farm.

County Attorney states that no law was violated in the deaths of two patients at the Grundy Hospital.

Mr. & Mrs. Dan Robertson, Iowa City, adopted a boy born Feb. 6.

Mr. & Mrs. David Heronimus are parents of a son born March 8.

Mr. & Mrs. Mark Schildroth are parents of a son born March 13.

Mr. & Mrs. Jerry Bown are parents of a son born March 7.

Mr. & Mrs. Roger Newell, Ames, are parents of a son born March 8.

Mr. & Mrs. Keith Johannsen are parents of a daughter born March 12.
