Local fire extinguished by Reinbeck and Grundy Center Fire Departments

The Reinbeck Fire Dept. was called to extinguish a fire at 804 Blackhawk St. in Reinbeck on Saturday, March 11 at 6:15 p.m.

Fire Chief Jamie Eiffler said that when they arrived on the scene the fire was at the back side of the house. They soon discovered that the fire had spread to the rest of the home. The Reinbeck Fire Dept. and Grundy Center Fire Dept. was on the scene for six hours.

The house is destroyed. No one was home during the fire except the family dog that was rescued. The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical.
