Windbreak educational program to be held March 23

ISU Extension Forestry Specialist Jesse Randall will be at Kling Memorial Library in Grundy Center on March 23, 2017 from 6:00 7:30 p.m. to present a program regarding new and old windbreaks. Class is open to the public and free of charge, thanks to sponsorship by ISU Grundy County Extension & Outreach.

This program is devoted to educating landowners on the value of windbreaks, how to design and select trees for a new windbreak, how to plant and maintain trees, what to look for in old windbreaks in terms of disease and insects and cost share programs available to the public to help with new windbreaks. Participants are encouraged to bring photos and samples to have their questions answered on site.

Local NRCS staff will also be available to answer questions related to cost share programs available.
