Ella Frier, 99, Washington, formerly from Gladbrook-Reinbeck area, died May 23 at Halecyon House in Washington.

Allan R. Harms, 53, formerly of Wellsburg, died May 23 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

Jerry Mennenga, 66, Portage Mich. formerly of Reinbeck, died June 10.

Al Bovy takes 3rd at Grundy figure 8 race.


JUNE 12, 1997

Leroy Schultz, Reinbeck, hits a hole-in-one at Oakleaf Country Club.

Marjorie Oaks, 78, Gladbrook, died June 4 at Grandview Heights, N.H.

Helen Coulson, 88, Gladbrook June 9 at the Grundy Hospital.

Olinda Luetje, 95, died June 9 at Westbrook Acres.

Elmer Hillman, 66, Beaman, died June 2.

Mr. & Mrs. Marvin Kern will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 21 at Amity Church.

Mr. & Mrs. John McKenna will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 22 at the Hudson Community Center.

Rev. Joel Love has been called to the United Congregational Church. They will be moving to Reinbeck in July.

Mr. & Mrs. Mark Thede are parents of a daughter born June 4.

Charlotte Ohrt graduated from Cottey College located in Nevada, Mo.


June 18, 1987

Opal Anderson, 71, Reinbeck, died June 13.

Amy Hoing, 59, Gladbrook, died June 13.

Mr. & Mrs. Steve Botsford, Cleveland, Ohio are parents of a daughter born June 15.


JUNE 23, 1977

Suzette Watson, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Claire Watson, graduated from Allen Nursing School.

Funeral services for Ben Flater, 71, Holland, were held June 23.

Mr. & Mrs. John Hooper observed their 45th wedding anniversary on June 15.

Mr. & Mrs. Tom Quinn, Reinbeck, are parents of a daughter born June 15.

Sharon Beck sustained head & back injuries when a car driven by James McGrane, Gladbrook, flipped on coarse gravel and rolled in a ditch.

Rev. Paul Salansky, former pastor of the Presbyterian Church, received his Doctor of Ministry degree from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago on June 7.


JUNE 22, 1967

Katherine Kaufman, 92, died June 15 the Traer Nursing Home.

Linda Lorenz, Reinbeck, was named Tama County Dairy Princess.

A group of farmers formed to purchase the Voorhies Elevator from Ed & Lucille Karkosh.

Sandra Larsen & Randy Juhl were married June 17.

Lyn Jackovich, Des Moines, & James Kubik, Reinbeck, were married May 27.
