Voting rules have changed.

Nick "Otis" Peterson was selected to play in the Shrine Bowl to be played July 21 at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames.

Grundy Co. Sheriff will participate in a project with the Governor's Traffic Safety Bureau, which is promoting traffic safety in Grundy County.

New increased water rates will become effective August 1.

Reinbeck Ramettes win Mid-Iowa softball conference.

Valerie Borquer, 15, from Paris is spending the month of July in the home of Mr. & Mrs. Lyle Robinson. She is one of 250 French students and teachers to learn about the Midwest.

A small twister hit the Bill Mooty farm and flattened 2 44x60 cattle sheds, flipped 1/2 of the roof from the silo and broke many windows in the tenant house occupied by Mr. & Mrs. Rick Tedore.

50 YEARS AGO

JULY 13, 1967

Reinbeck Canning Co. to construct a 150 ft. x 72 ft. warehouse that will cost approximately $45,000.

Reinbeck Canning Co. purchased about 170 acres of land along Hwy 58 northeast of CGW railroad tracks west of the Alfred Sieh farm at a reported price of nearly $100,000.

Otto Mertens, Reinbeck, has been honored for fifty years of service with the railroad.

Workmen began the construction of the Heithoff new Pioneer Pellet plant in Reinbeck.

Workman began removing the front of the former Graves Style Shop building to add more room to Lincoln Savings Bank.
