A send off was held for the high school boys baseball team on their first round at state baseball tournament.

Alicia Wager, ARNP, is joining Covenant Clinic.

Merger takes place between Heartland Coop & Central Counties Coop effective July l. The new cooperative will be named Heartland Coop.

Gloria Rickert will celebrate her 80th birthday on August 4.

Father John Kissling, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Grundy Center, and Queen of Heaven Church in Reinbeck, will retire August 1.

Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Hamilton will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 26.

Lucille Snow will celebrate her 85th birthday on July 25.

Teresa Thoms & Martin Conradi were married July 5.

Nikki Greve, member of G-R FFA, was announced as a recipient of a $1,000 National FFA scholarship.

Thelma Barnes, 77, Reinbeck, died July 25 at Parkview Manor Nursing Home.

Bernice Graveman, 85 Reinbeck, died July 21 at Parkview Manor.

Mr. & Mrs. Dennis Ihns are parents of a son born on July 2.

Mr. & Mrs. Larry Bern, North Liberty, are parents of a son born July 27.

Susan Long & Donald Clubine were married June 20.

Wm. Clark. 48, Reinbeck, died July 21.

Hazel Frei, 87, Reinbeck, died July 22.

Clara Boekenheuer, 76, Reinbeck, received multiple injuries when she drove into the path of a vehicle driven by Duane Peters, 43, Raymond.


AUGUST 4, 1977

Water revenue bonds valued at $275,000 were sold to finance the new water facility construction with completion target date of July 1, 1976.

Farmers Coop sold the elevator in Morrison to Russell & Chris Roberts for $80,000.

Bobbie Ann Rickert was first runner up in Little Miss Iowa Contest.

The last two elm trees at Elmwood Park were cut down after being claimed by dutch elm disease.

Three Reinbeck men Tom Lorenz, Lyndon McIntyre and Mike Schick rescued three men from drowning after their houseboat capsized in strong winds at Lake Pepin.

AUGUST 3, 1967
