Newly elected G-R School Board members are: Val Ehlers, Kelly Dinsdale, Beth Miller, Matt Wyatt, Darin King. Rick Lockhart and Ted Hamer.

Grundy Co. Hospital and Grundy Center Schools partner to offer athletic training service to local athletes. Those offering services are: Rachel Brinkman, ATC, Chris Wiedman, MPT, DPT, Joni Wright, MSPT, Connie Hansen, PTA, Eddie Ericksen, ATC and Dorothy Baker.

Class of '40 met for a lunch on Sept. 8 at Fountain On Main. Attending were Arlene Heller LaVonne Frampton, Jack Needham, Al Cheeseman and Claude Smith

Mr. & Mrs. Mikal Luiken are parents of a son born August 13.

Mr. & Mrs. Keith VanHauen, Holland, visited Senator Chuck Grassley's office while in Washington D.C.

Class of 1942 had their 65th reunion on July 7. Those attending from the class were: Virgil Wulf, Mary Lee Meewes Kuttler, Bernice Craig, Richard Mumm, Melvin Dudolski, Richard Ohrt, Warren Witt, Donald Jacobsen, Robert Thede, Roy Snyder and Charles Lazenby.

Rev. Mary Wilbur is now serving as pastor at Amity Pres. Church

Wayne Haskovec was elected as President of Reinbeck School Board.

Eric Mayer is the new physician assistant at Covenant Clinic in Reinbeck

Doreen Phister is new owner of Nana Rosa's Pizza.

Dan Bicket gets hole-in-one at Oakleaf Country Club.

Mr. & Mrs. Chad Jensen, Fort Dodge, are parents of a son born Sept. 14.

Mr. & Mrs. Paul Greiner will celebrate their 67th wedding anniversary on Oct. 8.

Magdalen Greiner will celebrate her 87th birthday on Sept. 27.

Vivian Augustine, 76, died September 16 at her home.


OCT. 1, 1987

Mr. & Mrs. Chuck Murphy are parents of a daughter born Sept. 18.

Mr. & Mrs. Mike Paige are parents of a daughter born Sept. 24.

Victoria Wood, 84, Reinbeck, died Sept. 26.

James Watson, formerly of Reinbeck, died Sept. 25.

Orillius Rottet, 81, Bicknell, Ind. died Sept. 20 while visiting his daughter Joanne Sager.

Barb Freed & Larry Schroeder were married Sept. 5.


OCT. 6, 1977

Roy & Valene Cooper, Traer, were killed in a head on collision on Hwy 63 on Sept. 2.

Mark Nash, incumbent Mayor, will be opposed by Tom Emmett for Mayor.

Jean Troge & Dennis Ihns were married Sept. 30.

The first hard frost arrived when temps dropped to 32 degrees on Oct. 1.

Pioneer Hi-Bred completed seed corn harvest on Oct. 4.


OCT.5, 1967

J. Harold Miller, 80, Reinbeck, fell from a ladder and fractured his left arm

Reinbeck City Council voted to continue the rat control program at the city dump with Doug Clapp and Dean Thede in charge.

Mr. & Mrs. Merlyn Petersen are parents of a son born Sept. 27.

Mr. & Mrs. Lynn Holman are parents of a daughter born Sept. 24.

Mary Murphy to be installed as District President on Oct. 7 at the annual convention of Future Homemakers of America in Waterloo.

Albert Raum, 60, died of burns in Iowa City.

Bertha Cold, 84, died Sept. 30.

At least 20-30 large elm trees in Reinbeck have been spotted as being infected with Dutch Elm Disease and will have to be cut down.

Tama Co. Sheriff reports that there is still no trace of Glenn Sorensen, 42, operator of a farm implement business in Lincoln, who has been missing.

Rev. Paul Salansky, former Presbyterian pastor, received his Dr. of Divinity degree from Lincoln College in Ill. on Sept. 24.
