Stop in the library during the month of October and see the 4-H exhibits in our display case. National 4-H week is Oct 1-7 and we have projects in the case from the 2016-2017 Black Hawk Nighthawk members which were taken to the Grundy County Fair and/ or the state fair.

New books this week include a children's book given to us by Cecilia and Owen Schmidt, children of Lindsey Koele-Schmidt and Tom Schmidt: Wonderful Things You Will Be by Emily Winfield Martin. Other books for children include: The War I Finally Won by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley and Chasing Augustus by Kimberly Newton Fusco.

New adult fiction include: Origin by Dan Brown, The Summer That Made Us by Robyn Carr, Stolen Marriage by Diane Chamberlain, Everything I Never Told You and Little Fires Everywhere both by Celeste Ng, Don't Let Go by Harlan Coben, Sleeping Beauties by Stephen King, Second Chance Girl by Susan Mallery and The Unquiet Grave by Sharyn McCrumb.

New large print include Allie and Bea by Catherine Ryan Hyde and Rejected Writers Take the Stage by Suzanne Kelman.

A new nonfiction book: Killing England by Bill O'Reilly.

New DVDs: Captain Underpants and Wonder Woman.

Children attending story time October 3 enjoyed listening to animal stories read by Dean Staack. The next story time will be held on Tuesday, October 17 at 10:00, with high school students doing the program.
