Iowa Bible reading marathon

October 22, 2017
Reinbeck Courier

On April 26, 2015, Governor Branstad signed the Iowa 99 county Bible reading marathon proclamation, encouraging all Iowans to participate in this historic occasion. Last year, 2016, was the first year that the Bible was read in every on of Iowa's 99 counties! Thousands participated by reading aloud into the atmosphere at the County Courthouses. This year for Grundy County there will be reading October 20 and 21 at the Grundy County Courthouse beginning at 8 a.m. and concluding at 6 p.m.

Volunteers are needed during this two day event. All ages welcome: adults, children, senior citizens, students; all denominations, business people, civic leaders, everyone!

Please bring your own Bible and a lawn chair as there will be many readers in various parts of the courthouse grounds. Check in at the gazebo upon your arrival for your portion of scripture.

Pastors, please share and encourage participation with your congregation. Volunteers can confirm by contacting; Pat (319) 269-2091 or Carene (310) 26905601.

The event will close in prayer in the revelation of 21 and 22 at 5 p.m. on Saturday. All are welcome. Come and be a part in preserving America, for our children and generations following. Alternate rain place is the Grundy Library.
