Dear Editor,

How about all of us not supporting the daycare expansion project through the use of our city tax dollars make our city council change their type of funding for this project? All it takes is a new motion. How about we tell them to fund the project but do so with a loan from the city instead of a direct donation of money from the city? Even better, let's have the members of the daycare board sign the loan such that they are responsible for repayment to the city should the daycare not be able to repay? Let's have the daycare board put their money where their mouth is when it comes to believing their own claims of increasing student enrollment and increasing taxes coming to the city? If they can afford a daycare that will cost over $1,500,000.00, they can surely pay a loan back. What's the risk for them, right? Talk to your city council members today and ensure they understand that through such a loan the city gets back the money provided to the daycare expansion project and still shows support.
