It's fall at Gladbrook-Reinbeck, so that means preparations for the high school fall musical are well underway. Auditions have been held and roles have been cast. Now lines are being memorized and songs and choreography are being practiced. Costumes, sets and props are being organized as well.

This year's musical is "The Pajama Game." The plot centers around a pajama factory in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, during the 1950s and it follows the workers as they try to get a 71/2-cent raise. This was a Broadway musical (based on a book) and was also a motion picture staring Doris Day and John Raitt. It features several energetic songs, such as "Steam Heat" and "Hernando's Hideaway."

The production is directed by Mr. Tessendorf, Mrs. Kiburis and Ms. Shutt. Mark your calendars to come watch one (or both) of the showings which are: Friday, November 17 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 19 at 2:00 p.m. We're looking forward to seeing you there!
