Firefighters taught lessons

October 29, 2017
Thomas Keller - a 4th grader at Gladbrook-Reinbeck Elementary , Reinbeck Courier

On October 11th firefighters came and talked to us about fires and what to do in case of a fire. They said to check your smoke alarms and have a place to meet outside and make sure everyone gets out. They said don't mess with matches and don't go back in. They put gear on that they wear in the fires. They said don't hide from firefighters and yell when you hear firefighters coming to save you. Have a place to meet outside. My family meets under a tree in the front yard.

Our theme this year was, "Every Second Counts: Plan Two Ways Out." We have a poster contest between 3rd graders and 4th graders the winners for 3rd grade were Avery Boyer 1st place, Elly Fogt 2nd place, and Kinzie Rose Hemann 3rd place. The 3rd graders winners were all girls. The winners for 4th grade were Devlin Davis first place, Kael Blohm 2nd place, and Dreyson Morgan 3rd place.
