Grundy County women support local cause

December 17, 2017

100+ Grundy County Women Who Care were thrilled to present their first donation to a local non-profit organization. The Grundy County food pantry at Operation Threshold received $3,100 thanks to donations by 100+ Grundy County Women Who Care members. "We are so grateful for this gift which will allow us to purchase much needed food. We serve about 80 food-insecure families in Grundy County each month," says Jaynie Mason, Operation Threshold Grundy County Program Manager.

Funds were collected at the first meeting of 100+ Grundy County Women Who Care in November. Members heard about two great causes in Grundy County and voted to fund the food bank. The group will meet three times yearly and any woman who wants to make an immediate positive impact in Grundy County is welcome to join at any meeting. April 10 will be the group's next meeting, at Town and Country Golf Club in Grundy Center. Visit Grundy County 100+ Women Who Care on Facebook, or e-mail for more information.
