GR snaps lengthy league losing skid

REINBECK - The Gladbrook-Reinbeck girls' basketball team snapped a 25-game NICL West Division losing streak with a 69-49 victory over South Hardin on Friday night.

Taylor Gienger got 22 points to lead the Rebels (3-2, 1-2), who had not won a divisional tilt since Feb. 6, 2015. Megan Swanson pitched in with 19 points, Haleigh Berendes had 11 points and eight rebounds, and Saari Kuehl added nine points and 10 boards for G-R.

The Rebels outscored the Tigers 20-9 in the fourth quarter to break the game open.

Paige Harrell accounted for nearly half of South Hardin's scoring, tallying 22 points to lead the Tigers (1-5, 1-2).
