The library is wanting to create a "classic movie" dvd collection and we are asking for your help. We have a list of The American Film Association's 100 Years100 Movies at the library. It is also posted on our facebook page. If you have any of these movies on dvd, and would be willing to donate them to use, please let us know. We have several of the titles, but not a lot as of this writing.

New books at the library this week include:

Nonfiction: A Life Beyond Amazing by David Jeremiah, Beautifully Cruel M. William Phelps, The Man Who Invented Christmas by Les Stanford.

Fiction: The Girl From the Sea and The Millionaire's Wife both by Shalini Boland, The Road to Enchantment by Kaya McLaren, Silver Bells by Fern Michaels and others, Year One by Nora Roberts, Besieged by A.J. Tata, My Dearest Cal by Sherryl Woods.

Young Adult: Losers Take All by David Klass and Under a Painted Sky by Stacey Lee.

Children's Books: Megan and the Broken Snowflake Factory by Karla Ridpath, with illustrations by Susan Hassman, an employee of the Eldora Library and Wonder (movie tie-in version) by R.J. Palacio.

Looking ahead: We are planning a program in celebration of our library's centennial to be held at Westview on Friday, January 12 at 2:00. Shana Stuart, director of the Carnegie libraries in Iowa project, will give a presentation on our library's history. The backup date, in case of bad weather, will be January 19. This program is free and open to the public. Plan to join us.
