Amy Schreck Naughton graduated from Iowa State University with a Masters of Education degree on Dec. 14.

Allene Webrand will celebrate her 80th birthday on Jan. 6.

Martha Vogt, 102, Reinbeck, died Dec. 16 at Parkview Manor.

Mary Wical, 86, Grundy Center, died Dec. 18 at her home.

Lane Jensen, 61, Dike, died Dec. 20 at his home.

Grundy & Black Hawk Counties land values are the highest price in NE Iowa.

Reinbeck Jaycees make donation to Grundy Co. Library Association "Books for Babies" program.

Darrell Breneman, 65, Wellsburg, died Dec. 17 at his home.

Members of Garwin, Gladbrook & Lincoln churches filled 49 boxes for the elderly, shut-ins and single parent families.


DEC. 24, 1987

Chris Frischmeyer of Glidden, has joined Lincoln Savings Bank staff as a loan officer.

Mr. & Mrs. Jamie Roster are parents of a son.

Willis Plaehn, 85, Reinbeck, died Dec. 25.

Rodney Greiner, son of Mr. & Mrs. Dale Greiner, was recently selected to serve on an Iowa Veisha sub committee.


JAN. 5, 1978

Roger & Debra Anderson are new owners of Reinbeck Plumbing & Heating.

Don Dirks is announcing that his new real estate and insurance office is now open.

Mr. & Mrs. George Davis are parents of a daughter born Dec. 23.

Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence Rohach celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary.

Funeral services were held for Kirk Brotherton, 16, on Dec. 30. Kirk was killed in an auto accident east of Independence.

John Riekena, 68, Wellsburg, died Jan. 1 of a heart attack at his home.

City Clerk Carol Bown, administered the oath of office to the new Mayor Tom Emmett.


JAN. 4. 1968

George Owen, 65, died Dec. 31 at a Waterloo Hospital.

Josephine Mitchell & Paul Mitchell will be installed as Worthy Matron & Patron of Coinette Chapter No. 273 of O.E.S. on Jan. 13.

Philip Owens, formerly of Reinbeck, died Dec. 26 at Popular Bluff, Mo.

Mr. & Mrs. Friend Miller will observe their 40th wedding anniversary on Jan. 7.

Mr. & Mrs. Joe Heithoff are parents of a son born Dec. 28.

Bruce French has enlisted in the U. S. Army.

Cathy Paulsen was capped when she graduated from St. Anthony's School of Nursing.
