Richard Louis Bouska

Richard Louis Bouska, 77, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at the Grundy Center Memorial Hospital. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, December 20, at Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Reinbeck at 10:30AM. A visitation started prior to the service at 9:30. Inurnment followed the memorial service at the Reinbeck Cemetery with military honors performed by American Legion Post 242. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to the church.

Richard was born on May 4, 1940 to his parents Louis and Mary (Hron) Bouska on a farm in South Dakota. Richard attended Reinbeck High School graduating with the class of 1958. Richard enlisted in the Army and served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. Richard returned to Iowa and was united in marriage to Ginger Juhl on April 27, 1968 at Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Reinbeck. Richard worked at John Deere as a computer programmer until he retired. Richard enjoyed his cars and enjoyed driving around in convertibles. Richard also enjoyed gardening and wood working.

Richard is survived by his wife Ginger; son Andrew of Austin, Texas; sister Lillian (James) Westergaard of Reinbeck; nephew Steve (Patty) Bouska of Cedar Rapids; nieces Barbara (Greg) Brandt of Reinbeck, Janet Patraw of Wisconsin, Joann (Jesse) Dobson of Cedar Rapids, Lindsay Reid of Des Moines; sister-in-laws Jane Juhl of Des Moines and Sharlene Bouska of Cedar Rapids. Richard is preceded in death by his parents and brother James.
