We asked for classic movie donations and we received many. To date we have received the following DVDs from people in the community: Chinatown, The French Connection, The Godfather, The Music Man, Psycho, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Singin' in the Rain, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Stanley Kubrick's Clockwork Orange/2001 Space Odyssey, Viva Las Vegas, West Side Story, The Wizard of Oz and Yankee Doodle Dandy.

Also, the following movies were purchased with memorial money for Don Billerbeck: Casablanca, The Bridge on the River Kwai, High Noon, A Christmas Story, Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid, The Shawshank Redemption, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Treasure of the Sierra Madre, The African Queen, MASH, The Searchers, Greatest Classic Films: Alfred Hitchcock Double Feature: Strangers on a Train North by Northwest, Forrest Gump and Rear Window. If you are in the mood for a classic, we can now provide!

Don't forget about our upcoming events: Saturday, Feb. 3 is Take Your Child to the Library Day, and we are having a special story time (with balloon animals) at 10:00 a.m. that day.

Then, on Saturday, February 10 we are taking part in a county wide trivia event. Our event will be held in the Legion room of the Memorial Building from 2-4. Teams of 4-8 people may sign up at the library. Also, we invite you to come to Westview on Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 2:30 for a book talk by retired veterinarian Jim Kenyon of Cedar Falls. All of these events are free and open to the public.
