G-R senior Chris Finn goes to State Wrestling Tournament.

Tyler Luethje joins offensive line at South Dakota State.

G-R new superintendent starting July 1 is Tim Kuehl.

Mr. & Mrs. Cory Hanna are parents of a son born Feb. 6.

Mr. & Mrs. Jon Richards are parents of a son born Feb. 6.

Ben Paige, son of Mr. & Mrs. Jeff Paige and grandson of Ruth Paige, has qualified for state wrestling tournament.


FEB. 12, 1998

Al Bachman, commander of Reinbeck Action Post #242 presented a check for $405 to Nick Cowell, Cub Master. Then Cowell presented Bachman with a certificate for the American Legion for 53 years of continuous service to the Cub Scouts of Reinbeck.

Jack Simonsen, 56, Reinbeck, died Feb. 6 in Austin, Texas.

Raymond Francis, 81, Traer, died Feb. 4 at Sunrise Care Center.

Lula Tripp. 86, died Feb. 6 at Parkview Manor.

Hattie Hoeg, 85, Traer, died Feb. 6 at Sunrise Care Center.

Eugenia Fleming, 77, Gladbrook, died Feb. 4 at Mary Greely Medical Center in Ames.

Josephine Nash, 93, State Center, formerly of Reinbeck, died Feb. 8 in State Center.

Rita Robertson, Reinbeck, a sophomore at Drake, is spending this semester in Scotland studying business & history.


FEB. 18, 1988

Mrs. LeRoy Moser submitted to gall bladder surgery and is recuperating at home.

Don Bown submitted to gallbladder surgery and is recuperating at his home.

Mr. & Mrs. Guy Stover formerly of Reinbeck, will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 21.

Carol Sedlmayer, Guttenberg, is recuperating from gall bladder surgery.


FEB. 23, 1978

The closing of Mid-Equipment of Grundy Center will affect about 100 employees.

Annabelle Ward retires from the post office after completing 27 years of service.

Two Reinbeck coaches were honored by being named "Coach of the Year." Coach Dennis Dennis Booth was named Class A football coach and Larry Messerly will represent Class A Wrestling coach of the year.

Sheryl Ubben & Greg Dirks were married Feb. 11.

Mr. & Mrs. Joel Paige are parents of a daughter born Feb. 21.

Jim Denning announces he is the new franchise dealer for Dodge cars and trucks.

Reinbeck sends five wrestlers to state tournament: Ron Sharp, Luther Beenken, Gary Thede, Mike Schick & Kent Hoeppner. The wrestling squad finished as Iowa Conference Champs with a dual season record of Sept. l.


FEB. 22. 1968

Alfred Dirks, 88, died Feb. 18 at a Waterloo Hospital.

Gordon Rees of Darlington, Wisc. was injured Feb. 15 in a truck-train accident west of Hudson on the Chicago Northwestern tracks.

Alice Snow died Feb. 15 at the Grundy Hospital.

Mr. & Mrs. Leland Stewart of Cedar Rapids are parents of a son born Feb. 17.

Mr. & Mrs. Jerry Mennenga, Duluth, Minn. are parents of a daughter born Feb. 16.

Helen Vanderwicken, 91, died Feb. 14.
