Reinbeck Library Centennial news

March 11, 2018
Reinbeck Courier

This past weekend the library held two special events: Dr. Seuss's birthday party and a viewing of its scrapbook collection. Sixty-three children and family members attended the birthday party where Dr. Seuss books were read, some GR students presented a Reader's Theater play, children made a Cat in the Hat pencil holder and everyone sang Happy Birthday to Dr. Seuss and enjoyed cake. In the lower half of the library dozens of scrapbooks were on display for anyone wishing to look thru them. Many patrons chose to do so. The books will remain on display for the next week so stop in and enjoy.

During spring break the library will host 3 events for children. Monday the 12th will be the "10 Clues" challenge. Children get a clue from the librarian and then figure out from the clue where to go next in the library. After discovering all 10 locations the children can choose a prize from the prize table.

On Tuesday at 10:00 story time will meet as usual but all children are welcome to come and enjoy the stories, activities, and craft-time.

On Friday, March 16 from 1:30 2:30 the library will host a game/craft event. Children are welcome to come and complete a craft as well as participate in group games.

Our April "Centennial" event will be a month-long event. Patrons of all ages are asked to take a log sheet and log the hours spent reading library materials. Our goal is to read 100 hours! Pick up a log sheet and start logging!
