10 YEARS AGO NOV. 27, 2008 Mr. & Mrs. Mike Armijo of Gilbert, AZ are parents of triplets born Sept. 10. Mrs. Armijo is the former Tammy Giesking. Agnes Brush died Nov. 15 at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama. Village of Lights celebration will be held Nov. 28 at St. John’s Luth. Church. 20 YEARS AGO NOV. 26, 1998 Problems at City Hall continue. Changes are likely in the near future. I.M.P.A.C.T. playground equipment continues to meet on Nov. 30 to plan purchase of playground equipment. Action Post #242 donate $500 for soccer program. Holiday “Tour of Homes” scheduled for Dec. 6 for Dollars for Scholars. Boy Scout Troop #73 restocked the food pantry to buy supplies for the pantry. Tara Smith & Jacob Lundgren were married Aug 22 at St. Edwards Church in Waterloo. Paul Greiner will celebrate his 96th birthday on Dec. 1. Nr, & Mrs, Dan Finke, Watertown, S.D. are parents of a daughter on Nov. 15. Mildred Mitchell, 95, died Nov. 19 at Parkview Manor. Melinda Weltzen, 101, Grundy Center, died Nov. 20 at the Grundy Care Center. 30 YEARS AGO NOV. 24, 1988 Mr. & Mrs. Rex Dinsdale are parents of a son born Nov. 22. John Soska, 40, Hudson, died Nov. 23 of cancer. Alma Nielsen, 106, Cedar Falls, died Nov. 19. Anna Lynch, 94, Grundy Center, died Nov. 22. 40 YEARS AGO NOV. 30, 1978 George & Craig Schildroth have purchased 193 acres of Unrau Century Farm located three miles east of Reinbeck for $3,300 per acre. Robertdale Furniture of Reinbeck, has been put into receivership. On Dec. 11 District Court of Grundy County will appoint a receiver to handle liquidation of all inventory and other assets. Evar Anderson received eight broken ribs and a crushed lung in a one car accident on County blacktop T-55. His vehicle slid on icy roads and went into the ditch and flipped over. Lincoln Equipment to hold inventory reduction sale on Dec . 8. 50 YEARS AGO DEC. 5, 1965 Reinbeck merchants plan to stay open nine evenings before Christmas. Gene Barker purchased 80 acres from Eldon Smoldt at $750 an acres. Adult ed classes will begin on Jan. 20 in cooperation with Hawkeye Tech. Mr. & Mrs. Claus Junge left for McPherson Army Hospital in Atlanta GA. where their son Robert was following a serious one car accident.
