G-R Community Makes a Difference by Avery Boyer

Ten Big Blue Buckets of pop tabs created a perfect pyramid at the Ronald McDonald House. Gram and I delivered them to Iowa City on July 28, 2019. This was our best year yet. The coordinators let me help weigh the pop tabs, and the total was 128.4 pounds. Before we recycled them, we made a pyramid; I was interviewed and a picture was taken for their Facebook page. I helped pour the pop tabs into the big blue tubs for recycling. The tabs are sold to Marion Ironworks. The amount earned depends on the price of aluminum. We beat our goal last year by two Buckets. This year please help us reach our goal of 12 Buckets. Send pop tabs to school with your children or grandchildren or with kids in your neighborhood. There are also Blue Buckets at the libraries in both Gladbrook & Reinbeck, at Truncks, at Oak Leaf and in Pam’s office at G-R High School. Thanks for your help last year ! Let’s work together again to reach our goal.
