T-55 FFA

February 27, 2020
Reinbeck Courier
The Dike- New Hartford and Gladbrook-Reinbeck schools developed a shared vocational agricultural and FFA program for the 2019-2020 school year. As a result, the T-55 FFA Chapter was formed for students from both school districts. Student members of the T-55 FFA will be provided opportunities for leadership, service, and growth through their chapter activities. Community members from both school districts have worked together to form an FFA Alumni and Supporters chapter, Friends of T-55 FFA. The Friends of T-55 FFA will be a member of the State and National FFA Alumni Associations. The Friends of T-55 FFA will support the student members of T-55 FFA by: providing leadership and career development opportunities, coaching contest teams, serving as a mentor for projects and proficiencies, participating in the annual awards banquets, and providing financial assistance for projects and scholarships to members of T-55 FFA to prepare for their future careers. As a new chapter, student members of the T-55 FFA chapter have; established the shared chapter name, hosted a breakfast for community members who are involved in agriculture, attended the National FFA convention, collaborated on projects with members from other chapters, and celebrated the induction of a member with the Iowa Farmer degree. The Friends of T-55 FFA hope to continue to support members in their local chapter projects and personal development. The Friends of T-55 FFA chapter is conducting a membership drive for individuals, families, and businesses. Friends of T-55 FFA will recognize their business partners at the local schools, county fairs, the student recognition banquet, and other chapter events. Friends of T-55 FFA holds monthly business meetings the second Monday of each month. If you are interested in becoming an individual or business member and supporting the T-55 FFA student members in the Dike-New Hartford and Gladbrook-Reinbeck school districts, please contact Gerald Kinney by calling or leaving a message at 319-989-2781 for a membership form or additional information.
